Fayette Dress

I ordered this dress as a birthday present and it is absolutely stunning. I have had absolutely no problems with quality and the materials feel very soft. Understandably there is some wait time as they have to make and ship the dress but it was nothing extortionate and it made it extra special when it did finally arrive. It is just the picture shows it and the fabric I chose looks almost identical to the photo. Genuinely such a gorgeous dress I can wear for so many different occasions. It is so well-made cannot recommend it enough! Definitely want to order more! Thank you so much! 🖤

Ordered with custom longer length for my daughter's prom this spring. Arrived right on time. The craftsmanship is wonderful and the purple satin option we selected is beautiful. Just to note: it does run very fitted through the torso, so custom measurements may be a good choice. We went with a standard size knowing my mom could make an alteration if needed. My daughter is so excited to have a unique and well made dress to wear this weekend.

I have had my eye on this dress for about a year now and finally decided to give in and it is perfection! I went with the custom sizing option as a xs is usually too big. The satin fabric is super soft and light. The women who makes these dresses is incredibly talented and her daughter is very responsive. They are a wonderful team who I would recommend to anyone. I apologize for not great photos. But trying the dress on made me feel so beautiful.

So, the dress is really pretty and the material is great! great craftsmanship as well.
Unfortunately, everything in the process went wrong.
I intended to wear this dress for my winter formal Feb. 4th. I ordered this dress early Dec-ish and it arrived today (Feb. 14th). I had reached out multiple times earlier, and Whimsicallace had replied. (They're great at replying!) They said they would be able to upgrade my shipping, but never did. Unfortunately, the dress still arrived late. Just something to keep in mind!!
I will not be wearing the dress though—it is too tight to go over my ribcage like right under my bust. For reference, I'm 5'2, 100lbs, and I got an XS. I checked the size chart, waist, hips, and bust, and they all fit. I'm also usually a XS anyways. But it was still too small for me (do I have a super big ribcage?? like what?? TT). The zipper won't even budge once it hits that area.
That's the risk of getting a dress (online) that doesn't stretch and is handcrafted. Just sad that I spent $100+ on a dress that doesn't fit. I don't know what else I could've done; the size chart fit.
So if you like this dress, get it!! it's really pretty. I'd recommend sizing up one or two, even if the size chart says one thing (or just getting custom). Whimsicallace is good at replying to your questions too!
